App privacy policy
How the Hira School app for staff, teachers and parents handles your data.

This policy covers the Hira School mobile app for Android and iOS
(mv.edu.hira.veshafela), published for Hira School, Addu City, Republic of
Maldives ("the school", "we").
Who the app is for
The app is for the school's staff, teachers and the parents or guardians of enrolled students. Accounts are issued by the school; the app does not let anyone create an account. It is not directed at children, and students do not sign in to it.
What the app handles
When you sign in, the app shows school records that you are already entitled to see under your role. The records stay in the school's management system and are shown in the app; the school decides what each role may see.
- Your email address and sign-in details (password, or your Google account email if you use Google sign-in), to sign you in and link you to your school record.
- Names, dates of birth, class, index numbers, addresses, phone numbers and occupations of students, guardians and staff, to show registers, class lists and contact details — only to people whose role allows it. For example, a parent sees only their own children.
- Attendance, leave and school calendar entries, to show your own attendance and leave, and to let reviewers decide on requests.
- Event photos (thumbnails) and review notes, for the contributors, approvers and managers named on a school event.
- Decisions and notes you enter (approvals, rejections, comments), to record them in the school system.
The app keeps a copy of what it last loaded on your device so it opens quickly and works briefly offline. Signing out deletes that copy.
What the app does not do
- No advertising, and no advertising or tracking identifiers.
- No analytics or crash-reporting services.
- No selling or sharing of data with third parties for their own purposes.
- No access to your device's location, contacts, camera, microphone or photo library.
Where data is stored
School records are stored by the school's management system, hosted on Supabase, which processes it on the school's behalf. All traffic between the app and the server is encrypted (HTTPS). If you choose Google sign-in, Google handles that sign-in under Google's privacy policy.
Keeping and deleting data
School records are kept for as long as the school needs them for administration and as required by Maldivian law. To ask for your account to be closed, or for a correction or a copy of your data, contact the school office. Deleting the app, or signing out, removes all app data from your device.

We will post any change to this policy on this page and update the date above.
